The Central Public School District is committed to meeting the educational needs of all students. Students who receive special education services have been found to have a disability and a need for specialized instruction. The eligibility process includes referral, intervention, screening, and assessments. A team from Central conducts a comprehensive evaluation to help determine eligibility and specific educational needs. As part of this process, information is gathered from students, teachers and parents.
Students, birth to 21, who have been identified as disabled and in need of specialized programming, receive an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The IEP outlines the unique needs of the student and the specialized goals and objectives that will help the student make educational progress.
