The mission of Central Elementary School is to guide individuals towards acquiring the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them maximize their potential for leading productive lives. This is made evident through Central’s commitment to provide a well rounded education in a variety of academic fields, along with providing students with numerous extra-curricular opportunities. The Central Elementary School staff is committed to establishing a safe and secure school environment that allows our students to flourish and grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Central Elementary School’s website. We are proud of our school, the achievements of the students, and the many contributions our staff regularly make to provide a challenging educational experience for all students. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to stop by the elementary office, call or e-mail.
Exposure to a large variety of text, while listening to adults model quality reading, is essential for proper literacy development. In an effort to increase the number of literacy experiences our students have, we are now offering story time during school breakfast. To make this a successful experience we need volunteers. Readers are needed from 7:40 –8:05 each morning and any mornings you are available would be greatly appreciated. If you have little ones at home, they are welcome to join in the fun. Bring your own children’s book or take one from our preselected choices located in the office.

You may have heard your child use the slogan Raider Pride, or you may have seen our posters displayed with the Raider Pride slogan. This slogan is part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) program, which we adopted four years ago here at Central Elementary. Our mission with PBIS is to recognize the positive attributes of our students and staff, teach character education, and create a positive learning environment for all our students. Raider Pride stands for, Positive Words and Actions, Responsibility for Self, Integrity and Honor, Display Self-Control, Excellence in Everything. Each month, students will learn a new character trait and teachers will use activities, books, and videos to introduce and teach the character trait. During the month of September, students learned about respect. The teachers created a video to teach this valuable trait. Click on the YouTube link below to view the video.
