Congratulations C.M.S. App Design Studio Winners

The Central Middle Schools quarter 1 App Design Studio class participated in the Congressional App Challenge.  The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district. This challenge had teams code original applications for mobile devices for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.  One of the teams from CMS was chosen as the winner of this competition for MN District 6 represented by Congressman Tom Emmer. The contest was open to middle school and high school students at more than 70 schools in the district.  The winning team members include: Erika Mork, Ella Mork, Jessica Tober, and Samantha Pieper.   The app that the team designed and created was called Time Resurrection.  It is an time management/planner app that allows the user to enter tasks to be completed and then asks the user questions to prioritize their to-do list.  The class App Design Studio, taught by Amber Kester, is offered to 7th grade students for one quarter at CMS.
