Dear Central Elementary Families:
It is very exciting to welcome you to Central Elementary School! We are honored to have you and your child as a part of our school community. At Central Elementary School, you will find an extremely talented group of caring and dedicated employees who set high expectations for themselves and our students daily. I am very proud and honored to have been a part of this staff and community starting in July of 2013.
Prior to being selected to help lead Central Elementary School, I spent one year at Ellen Hopkins Elementary in Moorhead, MN as an assistant principal. Working in the Moorhead School District was a wonderful experience that helped me sharpen my skills as a building leader. Before becoming a school administrator, I also spent nine years teaching fifth grade in the Elk River School District and a half a year teaching middle school and high school science in Lake Benton, MN.
As a student growing up in Shoreview, MN and attending schools in the Mounds View School District, I was like many students who do well enough but are disengaged from the educational system. This disengagement kept me from even considering education as a career option. Instead, I attended Southwest State University in Marshall, MN with the intention of going into pediatrics. During my second year of college, I was questioning my career choice and began talking to my wife, who I was dating at the time, about other career options. We started to reflect on my hobbies and realized that I was seeking out opportunities to teach for fun. It was through this reflection that I realized my calling into education.
My wife Jennifer and I are proud parents of four: Bradyn (13), Bethany (10), Elijah (7), and Josiah (5) . I also feel a strong sense of gratification that my children are a part of the Central School District. In our spare time, we love to hang out as a family playing games, being outdoors, walking our dogs, having movie nights, and watching the Vikings, Gophers, and Twins. When I am not at school or spending time with my family, I enjoy hunting (deer and pheasant), fishing, and playing baseball.
As a building leader, I look to serve our students, teachers, and community so we can continue to build on our already significant level of success. If there is anything I can do to help better serve your student, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call me at 952-467-7301.
