Business Education courses make a significant and vital contribution to the academic and career preparation of all students by providing relevant courses of study aligned with the Common Core Standards. Here at Central, our business courses help students develop knowledge in personal finanance, accounting, and technology. This information will be used in important life decisions students will have to make related to buying a house or car, budgeting, and investing.

The Business classes that are currentlly available for high school students include:
Personal Finance is everything to do with managing, saving, and investing your money. It covers budgeting, banking, insurance, mortgages, investments, etc. Students will gain a clear understanding of how to set and obtain financial goals.
Accounting is the recording of financial transactions plus storing, sorting, retrieving, summarizing, and presenting the information in various reports. It also entails providing a company's management with the information it needs to keep the business financially healthy. Accounting is the most important part of any successful business.
Computer applicatioins introduces students to computer operating systems. This course allows students to experience hands on experience in MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, G-mail, and many others.
This course introduces students to basic web design using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Throughout the course students are introduced to planning and designing effective web pages; implementing web pages by writing HTML and CSS code; enhancing web pages with the use of page layout techniques, text formatting, graphics, images, and multimedia; and producing a functional, multi-page website.
This course will teach students the basics of photography, camera functions, video editing, media analysis, and filmmaking. Students will work individually and in groups to write, shoot, and edit their own projects. Sample student projects during the semester include PSA’s, commercials, short films, music video and news stories.
Middle school courses include:
6th Grade Keyboarding
7th Grade Keyboarding
8th Grade Keyboarding
All middle school students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade with take Keyboarding for 1 quarter. Keyboarding class will help students with their typing technique and familiarize them with basic computer functions. Students will focus on checking emails, organizing inboxes and folders, and navigating their google drive.
