December Student of the Month - Donovan Becker
Senior Student of the Month
Donovan was nominated by CHS staff and voted as Senior Student of the Month for December 2018. Criteria used for the selection was academic progress, responsibility, school spirit, personal growth and character.
Donovan's nominator(s) chose him for the following reasons: "Donovan is a driven, motivated student that has a genuine desire to make Central a better place. He keeps up with all of his classwork, respects his teachers and peers, and pushes himself to take advanced classes. He's the President of Student Council and Choir, an active theatre and speech member, and a leader on his Knowledge Bowl team; in each of these activities and around the school, Donovan is an excellent motivator and advocate for his peers."
His plans after high school include attending college to earn a degree in Social Studies education with a minor in Political Science, Anthropology and Sociology.
Donovan's recommendation to underclassmen and peers is to try something new. High School is the only place where you can try anything and see if you like it. So try what you can.
When asked what his favorite hobbies and interests are, Donovan says that he enjoys his time in theatre, playing video games and playing Dungeons and Dragons when he has the time. He loves to read books about history. He states that every time he goes to a bookstore, it's usually hard to find a book that he hasn't read in the history section.
Donovan's favorite activity at Central High School is Theatre. He states that he was a latecomer to the theatre department, but now they have become part of his family. Donovan admits that he will really miss all of them when he leaves this year, but the things that he's learned are going to stay with him for the rest of his life.
Donovan is the son of Sean and Mylei Becker.
