This week is National School Counseling Week! The theme is “School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive” which is EXACTLY what our incredible counseling team does at Central Public Schools. We are so grateful for their hard work, dedication, and the impact they make for our students!

The Bountiful Basket Food Shelf is in need of paper bags, and the student council is collecting donations. This is a simple way to give back to the community! Please bring your donated paper bags to Mrs. Hammers' room.

This week is a big week! We are so excited to welcome our future Kindergarten families for Kindergarten Registration Night on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 6-7 p.m. at Central Elementary School. Spread the word and we will see you there!

Students in kindergarten are spending the next four weeks dropping everything to read! They are learning about tricky words and sometimes they try to find all the tricky words they know in a story.

As part of Chef Chris's visit, staff and students had a lot of fun posing for photos with the fruit sword. Yes, you read that right!

On Wednesday, January 29, Chef Chris Murray made a visit to our school! He actually came two days prior, prepping food for the meal. He visited Slovenia with Taher and created this meal for the students. He served Sausage Stuffed Slovenian Chicken on the Sword, with brown demi glaze; Slovenian Potato Dumplings with Cream Sauce, Smoked Bacon, Caramelized Onions and Green Onions; and Slovenian Spinach and Feta Cheese Pratta. It was amazing!

Central Secondary School is buzzing with excitement today as more than 40 businesses were in attendance to to connect with students during the annual Career Fair. The event, designed to expose students in grades 6-12 to a wide range of career opportunities, served as a bridge between local businesses and the future workforce.
We'll share more about this awesome event soon!

Thanks to everyone who joined us at our Incubate to Innovate Parent Night yesterday! in case you missed it, we talked about Adaptive Capacity, which is the ability to adjust, cope, and creatively problem solve.
After parents discussed challenges in raising children today, i2i presented on the need for Adaptive Capacity. They also shared ways to use their ChangeMaker Mindsets in the home and provided families with a toolkit that can be used by all ages. This provides common language as these mindsets are also used in classrooms at Central.
Representatives from i2i shared, "It is fun to sing the praises of the district and promote your brand and story!"
