Congratulations to Addison Dietzel who will be attending NDSU and majoring in Biological Sciences after graduation! She says her favorite teacher was Mr. Degler and that Junior Year Prom is a favorite high school memory. Students should heed her advice: “Try to get your homework done right away, before it becomes a bigger problem!”


Students have been studying hard this school year!


Last Friday was Central Elementary Night with the Timberwolves and the students we invited down on the court after the game and were able to make some free throws. So cool!

A tasty and healthy lunch gets students ready to continue learning!


Ella Harms says that her favorite teacher was Mr. Bollum and her favorite high school memory is Life lessons with Degler! She plans to attend St. Cloud Technical and Community College, and get a degree in sonography. Her advice to students is simple but important: “Have fun!”


In case you forgot, next week is Spring Break! Monday, March 24 is a Teacher Comp. day with no student attendance from March 24 through March 28. Enjoy your break!



Don’t forget that Friday, March 21 marks the end of quarter three and will be an early release day!


Morgan Alar is today’s senior spotlight! She says her favorite high school memory is Life Lessons with Degler and that Oak was her favorite teacher. After graduation, she plans to attend SMSU to play softball and pursue a degree in Pre-Occupational Therapy. Her advice for underclassmen is “Take every CE class you possibly can!”

Last week, our Taher Chef, Chef Chris Murray, came and had a grill out/indoor picnic for the students! He made BBQ Chicken Thighs, Brats, Cheeseburgers, Cowboy Beans, Creamy Polish Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob, Pineapple and Lemonade. Everyone said it was delicious!

Central Concert Band worked with Professor Simon Tillier at the MSHSL large group band contest. This year the band traveled to St Mary’s Catholic School in Sleepy Eye to perform and they earned three superior ratings! In addition to performing well on stage, students conducted themselves remarkably well off stage.


Last week, students who are interested in a career in the medical field got to spend some time during WIN Time speaking with Shelby Erickson from Ridgeview Medical Center. They learned a lot!


We love seeing smiling students in the hallways!


Students in first grade spent a week digging into Geology and Paleontology! They learned about volcanoes, geysers, fossils, and dinosaurs and identified characteristics of different types of rocks and minerals. Some of their favorite activities were using clay to make fossil-like creations, dinosaur rubbings and prints.











Abigail Dauwalter is today’s senior spotlight! After graduation, Abigail will be working as a welder/fabricator at Sackett-Waconia. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Mesik and her high school memory was attending junior prom. Abigail’s advice for younger high school students is to, “Try out different classes that sound interesting. Don’t take electives that don’t interest you, it only makes school harder.”


Congratulations to senior Keira Hemmann! Keira plans to attend Creighton University majoring in biochemistry on the pre-dental track. Her favorite memories in high school include going to sporting events and prom/post-prom. Her favorite teacher was Mrs. Gustafson .
Her advice for underclassmen is to, “Keep pushing through and take all your required classes right away to have a chill senior year.”


The STEAM Room at Central Elementary is a place where students can try new things, measure their results, and try again!
