Central Elementary School’s first graders recently took a step back in time as they explored the fascinating early world civilizations of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt.
In Mrs. Honkomp’s classroom, the study of Ancient Egypt came alive as students designed and wore their own King Tut–inspired headdresses. Our young historians also practiced writing and replicating hieroglyphs, learning how ancient Egyptians used symbols to tell stories and record important events. To complete their exploration, students constructed pyramid models, discovering the importance of these iconic structures in Egyptian culture.
Through hands-on learning and creative projects, students gained a deeper understanding of how these ancient societies lived, communicated, and built lasting legacies. We love seeing learning come alive through meaningful and fun activities like this!
