Central Theater Camps have been hard at work this week on their production of "Breaking News!" a show about a newscast that goes terribly wrong! Yesterday the band went to the Garden of the Gods for a little hiking. After lunch they went white water rafting on the Arkansas River. One or two may have fallen out, but they all got back in and it was a good time for all.

Get ready for some summer fun with Music in the Park! Mark your calendars and bring your lawn chair to NYA Legion Park! Things kick off this week with Rich Larson and Friends on Thursday, June 12

Free building time in the STEAM room is when students really get to try anything! Here are examples of some of the amazing builds that students completed throughout the last few weeks of the school year. Their creativity is amazing!

Before the end of the year, fourth graders spent time learning about The Titanic with their classroom teachers. As a cumulative project, they created a model of the Titanic during STEAM. This project relied heavily on collaboration, as there were students in both sections of fourth grade working on the model at different times. Other students made models of the different types of rooms found on the ship (first class, second class, and third class). They even created an iceberg to show the demise of the Titanic. It was amazing to see all their hard work, collaboration, and excitement about the topic! Their project will be on display in the STEAM room, so take a look next time you're walking past!

Second graders spent some time designing, creating, and testing bubble wands made from pipe cleaners. It was a fun way to get outside in the beautiful weather while also working through the engineering design process of creating, testing, improving, and sharing their results.
